Lowcountry Bombshell
by Susan Boyer~ A Book Review
I
had the privilege to read Lowcountry
Bombshell through Netgalley.com and I have to say it was an absolute delight. This is the second installment in a series by
Susan Boyer about investigator Liz Talbot, who lives in a house she inherited from
her grandmother on an island near Charleston, South Carolina ( the city with
the best food in the world!).
Whenever
I encounter a book with a splashy, graphic comic book style cover and a
similarly “Janet Evanovich” type title, I think “formula” and “contrived” and “probably not for me”.
However, this book was free for the reading and the teaser was intriguing.
Knock
me over with a feather! This book was delightful! I love investigator Liz
Talbot. So, she chats with her high school friend that committed suicide! In
South Carolina there are ghosts (not to mention mustard based BBQ sauce!). The story was cleverly well plotted; I did
NOT figure out the murderer early on; and, best of all, this book was creative
and entertaining!
The
best review I can give is to say I want to read the first book, Lowcountry Boil. There are still a few weeks left of beach
reading and this book should be tucked into your tote!
